Two minutes? Had he meant to be that specific?

In the grand scheme of things, two minutes wasn’t a long time. Only one hundred and twenty seconds, and when you were dreading what was in store, they went by freakishly fast.

As I watched Creed walk away, I tried to imagine what he had planned. Something told me it wasn’t a spanking. That would’ve been too easy. Since I assumed the clamps were an appetizer, I couldn’t fathom what he had for the main course.

I leaned toward Hawk and lowered my voice. “What type of punishment do you think I’ll get for what I did?”

“Whatever that sadistic man can dream up,” Hawk answered, his attention on the television.

“What type of punishment would you give me?”

“For running away?”

“Yes.”

He looked at me as he considered that. “If you hadn’t asked for punishment the other night, I’d take you to the wine cellar, strap you to the spanking bench, and paddle your ass until you couldn’t sit.”

I gasped. Honestly, I hadn’t expected him to have it mapped out. I never would’ve pegged Hawk for one to punish. Certainly not with such conviction.

“But since I did ask for punishment?”

Hawk shrugged. “As far as I’m concerned, it’s behind us now.”

Clearly, that wasn’t the case for Creed. Even after the clamps.

I looked at Hawk. “Can I ask you something personal?”

“No.”

I was shocked by his immediate response. “Why not?”

“Because it violates Creed’s rules.”

“Does it violate yours?” I countered.

“Doesn’t matter. Creed’s rules supersede mine.”

“Because he’s the Alpha?”

Hawk’s head turned again, his eyes skimming my face. “You’re venturing into personal territory, smokeshow. Might I suggest you refrain? If you don’t, I will be forced to let Creed know.”

Hmm. I wasn’t sure I liked that he was going all Dom on me, too. Then again, I admired his desire to obey Creed’s command. For some reason, that was insanely sexy. I liked the thought of Creed dominating Hawk, too.

I decided to give up on that quest and opted for another. “Will Creed tell me what the punishment is before he gives it?”

“Probably not.”

“Do you know this from experience?”

Hawk clicked his tongue. “Last warning, smokeshow.”

Have I mentioned how much I liked that he called me that? I couldn’t explain why, but I did. It was different. He didn’t call me baby, or honey, or sweetheart. Those terms of endearment seemed overused. Unless, of course, it was when Creed called me baby when he was fucking me. That was hot. Or when Nick called me sweetheart when he wanted to ensure I was listening. Then again, they could call me anything, and it would be hot. I was easy when it came to them.

“Fine,” I huffed, glancing at the clock.

Creed must’ve been using a timer because the instant the digits on the clock reached the deadline, he walked into the room.

“On the table. Hands and knees. Face away from me.”

Those were ridiculously simple commands, but my brain didn’t process them well. I blamed it on trepidation and fear of the unknown. I had no idea what Creed intended to do to me.
